Informants are the foundation of many drug-related investigations. However, when not managed effectively, they can be a double-edged sword. Narcotic investigators must be experts in identifying potential informants, cultivating good informants, avoiding potentially dangerous informants, and effectively managing informants during a variety of tasks and investigations.
